Resort Guides My Choice, Your Choice - helping you to find your perfect place in the sun
To help you choose your next holiday destination we have started to put together a compilation of Resort Guides which we hope over time will bring you information on places and people from all corners of the World To help us compile this unique guide we need you, the traveller to help us. Please send us your thoughts and impressions of the places you have stayed and we'll look at adding them to the guides. This way we can build a source of real information put together by the people who have actually been there and who want to pass their experiences onto others. What we are looking for is a description of the resort/place you stayed in, what the area was really like, your favourite restaurants, bars, shops and beaches. We would also like to hear about your experiences with local characters, tipping and anything else you can think off that might help your fellow travellers To start you off we have added a guide to the Costa Del Sol in Spain kindly supplied by a good friend of ours, Anna Muir from Travel Counsellors .

Costa Del Sol
The Costa del Sol stretches for over 150 kilometers and is Spain's most popular tourist destination; this is mainly due to its magnificent beaches and mild climate. The birth place of Picasso, it is a hotbed of flamenco, fiesta and bullfighting. There is always something happening in the bars and clubs, especially at Fiesta times. Mid-August Malaga has a week long Fiesta, Feria Grande. Once the sun has gone down, thousands dance, drink and celebrate in the open-air venue Real; you can't help notice the Spaniards infectious enthusiasm for life. Fuengirola, thanks to its privileged position, is commonly known as the "Heart of the Costa del Sol". True to Andalucian tradition, Fuengirola is a place of easy living with a beautiful beach, fringed with a lovely tree lined promenade. When evening comes, feast on gourmet delights in one of the many restaurants as the atmosphere of the resort heats up. Marbella is one of the most colorful and cosmopolitan resorts along this coastline. With 28 kilometers of sandy beaches and its traditional Andalucian town centre it is an ideal choice for those seeking a stylish resort with high standards of accommodation. Just west of Marbella is Puerto Banus, playground to the rich and famous, with its glittering yacht marina it is Southern Spain's answer to St Tropez. Here you can watch the world go by, without a doubt the place to be seen. Nerja has a wonderful setting at the foot hills of the Almijara mountain range. The old town with its small narrow streets overlooks the stunning rocky coastline. Just a few kilometers away lies the Nerja Caves, home to the worlds longest Stalactite at 63 meters in length. One does not have to travel far from the coast to discover the true Spain, unspoilt, inland villages such as Casares, Ronda, Manilva and Sabinillas are all locked in time and offer tiny pieces of paradise. Due to the fine all year round climate, the Costa del Sol has become very popular with golfers, offering 30 golf courses including Valderama which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup. Now known as Costa del Golf it has received universal recognition known as the "finest winter golf resort in Europe". So whether you want to relax on one of the many golden beaches, drive inland to one of the whitewashed villages, shop till you drop or enjoy a traditional fresh catch of the day at one of the many gourmet restaurants, the Costa del Sol, has something for everyone.
